About
I started my photography journey in 2009 during my molecular biology study. I would snap pictures here and there or seek to enhance my photography skills through diverse courses and assignments. Now I explore what life is through photography. By sharing my journey on this blog, I try to be more activily seeking out photography-related projects and subjects.
At the time of my PhD research, I took a small break in 2017 to join Jeroen Toirkens in Lapland, learning about storytelling and slow documentary projects. Since then, I’ve worked on several personal projects and discovered I enjoy photographing silent moments outdoors and people in their natural habitat and environment.
After several years of working as a post-doctoral researcher at the university, I now work at Single Cell Discoveries as Senior Data Scientist. Photography is my passion, and I’m always looking for new people to collaborate with, both in the Netherlands, Scandinavia and beyond. I enjoy travelling and photographing in new environments as it gives me a fresh and interesting perspective on “What is Life?”. If you’re interested in working together on a photo shoot or documentary project, don’t hesitate to reach out to me here or on Instagram.
If you’d like to get in touch with me, there’s a contact form under the “Using Photos” section. Take a look around, and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Best, Jessie
